Flexus® Junior – A Chip Off the Old Block

Flexus Jr is the smallest instrument in the Flexus automated liquid handling family.

Highly flexible and sharing many of the features of its larger versions, Flexus Jr gives you entry level automation for low throughput applications at a very affordable price.



Flexus Junior is a cost effective, compact and simple, single tipped sample processor, with flexible application software for automating any liquid handling task.

Like all members of the Flexus family, Flexus Jr features a unique micro-annular gear pump with excellent precision and accuracy over a wide pipetting volume range. The pump is located in the robotic arm to maximize deck space available for labware, and can be used for both precision pipetting, and for bulk fluid dispensing from a reservoir.

Flexus Jr’s single pipette tip can be configured as either washable or disposable, and has the same large dynamic volume range as it’s bigger counterpart i.e. 1µl to 2ml. Disposable tips come in a range of sizes including 30µl, 400 µl and 1000 µl and can be used with or without liquid level sensing.

The deck can hold up to 12 microtitre plates or other labware of equivalent size e.g. tube racks, tip boxes, etc. The addition of a gripper enables a greater capacity by using a stacking feature for both plates and tips, and also gives Flexus Jr the ability to interact with a plate bar code reader, plate shaker and a vacuum station.
